Jean Foillard is, of course, one of the legendary Gang of Four — the Beaujolais quartet (Lapierre, Thévenet, Breton, Foillard) who pioneered natural Beaujolais under Jules Chauvet's influence. The 2021 vintage was tiny and cool, which suits the Eponym's style — taut, energetic, with bright acidity holding everything in tension.
