The vines are more than 20 years old and grow at 350 to 400 meters on clay-limestone full of stone. That's high-altitude, rocky ground in a village that borders both Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. Joseph worked alongside his father Marc from 1993, starting at 19. After his older brother Pierre-Yves left in 2003, he ran Domaine Marc Colin with his two younger siblings, and in 2017 he took a little over six hectares to start his own domaine. He keeps a light touch in the cellar: this wine ferments with native yeast, ages in barrel and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
