The blend is roughly 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, grown on sandy-gravelly soils and aged in French oak with about 30% new. Durantou had a gift for coaxing plush, precise, beautifully balanced wine out of Bordeaux's right bank, and La Chenade delivers that polish without the Pomerol price tag.
