From a steep, limestone-rich slope in Rully, “Fromange” is the flagship white from Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne’s biodynamic micro-estate, La Pierre Ronde. Formerly a consultant for some of Burgundy’s top domaines, Antoine now tends his own vines with the same detail-driven philosophy—low yields, wild ferments, and gentle élevage in neutral wood.

The 2022 vintage is lithe and elegant, with aromas of lemon peel, white flowers, and crushed shell. On the palate, it’s taut and textural—pure citrus and orchard fruit layered over a chalky, linear frame. No makeup, no flash—just clean, vibrant Chardonnay shaped by soil and time.

It’s a wine that drinks well above its appellation, perfect for those seeking Côte de Beaune character without the price tag. Serve with shellfish, roast chicken, or Comté. Fromange 2022 is a beautiful snapshot of the future of Burgundy—quietly expressive, organically farmed, and deeply rooted in place.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 90
"The 2022 Rully Fromange is a wild, exotic wine with distinct Riesling-like overtones. Jasmine, white flowers, crushed rocks and slate lend notable aromatic depth. Sweet, intensely floral overtones reappear to lift the ethereal finish. The Rully is perhaps a touch eccentric, but is also quite appealing." -Vinous

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
