It's a small house, making about 2,500 cases a year, mostly Sauvignon Blanc, so the Chenin is one of their smaller bottlings. They say they love the grape because it shows California's ocean and sun together, cool and ripe at once. Their method keeps things light: fermentation with natural yeasts in old barrels, no heavy oak, a winter of aging, then bottling before the next harvest to keep the wine fresh. The grapes come from the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County.
