The house recipe is unhurried — fermentation and maceration in stainless steel, then maturation in oak casks and a long rest in bottle before release — and this one has had a decade more on top of that. Roberto and Massimo Damonte took the reins in 1974 and turned a bulk-wine business into one of Roero's reference estates, which is why a mature Riserva like this still costs a fraction of what a Barbaresco of the same age does.
