Colla took over Prunotto in 1956 and in 1961 bottled Bussia as the first single-vineyard Barolo, inspired by Burgundy and against every prevailing Piedmontese convention. This 1967 Bussia di Monforte d'Alba Riserva is from the cru's earliest single-vineyard releases, when the idea was still revolutionary. 1967 was a classical, moderate vintage in the Langhe. Nearly six decades on, this is a true museum piece: any surviving bottle is an heirloom and a fragile one, fully into its tertiary register. Drink with reverence, with a slow carafe and an understanding that this bottle was sealed before the moon landing.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0125/1518/0601/files/Prunotto-Barolo-Bussia-di-Monforte-dAlba-Riserva-1967-Red-Wine-Flatiron-Wines-Spirits-New-York.jpg?v=1778338317
https://nyc.flatiron-wines.com/products/prunotto-barolo-bussia-di-monforte-dalba-riserva-1967-gdpcell-cnsn
