It ferments and rests in large neutral oak, around twenty-two months before bottling, the same unhurried cask-first approach the family brings to its Barbaresco and Barolo. The result has the texture and mineral cut people go to Burgundy for, but keeps a Piedmontese sense of joy about it. Give it air - a decant, or at least a wide glass and twenty minutes - because it opens considerably.
