The vines that go into this wine were planted in Rodrigo’s grandmother’s backyard in 1905; they also made the first wine he ever tasted. It’s fermented and aged in old, large wooden barrels (600L), the way Albariño was made prior to the mass introduction of stainless steel. Indigenous yeasts, no malolactic fermentation, and on the peninsula of Meaño, all of the vines are within spitting distance of the ocean, picking up beautiful salinity.
