Bassi is certified biodynamic by Demeter, and that comes naturally to Gina, who grew up on biodynamic vineyards in the Sierra Foothills and is a rare second-generation biodynamic farmer. Their Syrah comes from a southwest-facing slope where the soil runs from rock outcrops to sand deposits. They make it the old-fashioned way: native yeast, no adjustments, and no filtering.
