We've been waiting all year for the amazing Sebastián Zuccardi to come to the Flatiron Wine School mezzanine for a masterclass, and now that day is finally here! This iconic estate isn't just a huge part of the history of Argentine winemaking. With Sebastián at the helm, particularly in their robust research and experimental activities, Zuccardi also represents Argentina's exciting future.

Sebastián Zuccardi is part of the third generation of a family with a strong visionary and innovative spirit, positioned worldwide as one of the leading producers of great Argentine wines. He has participated in grape harvests in the main wine regions of the world - the United States, France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal, which allowed him to forge a philosophy that governs all his work in the vineyards and in the production of his wines: "achieving identity through the terroir."

In 1999, Sebastián began making sparkling wines from the Uco Valley using the traditional method, together with four friends through their project Alma 4. In 2007, he joined the family winery, leading the development of the high mountain region of the Uco Valley.

In 2009, Sebastián founded the Research and Development department with the aim of deepening the study of the diverse soils and other variables of the Uco Valley terroir and their expression in the wines. The team ́s work, exploring and discovering the richness of the area, with its diversity of soils, landscapes, and climates, has allowed them to cultivate wines that are a true reflection of the place.
There is no better guide to lead us through the wines of this amazing estate than winemaking director Sebastián Zuccardi.

The cost of this seminar is $30 and a $20 credit at the store will be extended to each guest for a future purchase. Seating is limited and special pricing on the featured wines will be made available only to attendees. We hope you can join us on the mezzanine at 6pm on Wednesday, October 16 for this special evening.

Baricchi Timorasso: A Gorgeous Piedmont White, After 10 Years Aging

The 2014 Cascina Baricchi Timorraso “Ca Va Sans Dire” is a total showstopper. It comes from a vineyard planted in the 1950s on clay and limestone soils. It spent the first 6 months of its life in stainless steel tanks with regular stirring of the lees. It was then moved to neutral barriques where it rested for a whopping nine years before bottling.

Ancient Vines & Great Terroir Collide in Antonio Madeira's Old Vine Blend

This is an “entry level” wine on a whole other level, a wine from another time. Antonio Madeira's vines are 50 to over 100 years old. Vinhas hella Velhas, if you get right down to it. Even wackier, it’s a field blend of more than 20 varieties. The farming and winemaking are super old-fashioned too: organic, even biodynamic work in the vines and minimal interventions in the winery.

Sulauze's Joyful "Charbonnières" Shows a Lighter Side of Provence

You’d be forgiven for thinking of Domaine de Sulauze as a rosé domaine — after all, it’s in the heartland of French rosé, Provence, and its Pomponette rosé is one of our best-selling pink wines. But this slice of biodynamic paradise churns out stunning red wines, too.
