Chief Winemaker Tamra Kelly-Washington, who came back to the team in 2018, now runs the cellar. A bit of trivia to take to the table: the Māori name for the region, \"Kei puta te Wairau,\" means \"the place with the hole in the cloud,\" after the shape of the valley. That fits a place with long sunshine hours, a cool growing season and little rain.
