"While the aromatic profile is similar, this doesn't offer quite the same level of aromatic refinement as the Guettes but it's even more complex. The rich, powerful and opulent big-bodied flavors possess a taut muscularity and seemingly endless reserves of dry extract that relegate the otherwise very firm tannic spine to the background. This is not an elegant Savigny but it will live for years."

"The ’09 Fournaux is showing very well with a lovely bilberry and wild strawberry bouquet that is perfumed and floral, almost Vosne-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy, sappy red berry fruit and quite firm, slightly rustic tannins underneath. With a hint of spice just perking up the finish, this is a delightful Savigny that is almost too good to cellar."
