The plot sits in Savigny-les-Beaune just below the Les Lavieres premier cru, on red clay, gravel and limestone, with some vines dating back to 1939. This is Pinot Noir farmed organically (uncertified) and made the old way: largely whole-cluster, a gentle cool maceration, native-yeast fermentation, then a year or more in barrel with little or no new oak. 2023 brought a big, healthy crop of Pinot Noir and reds that are aromatic and transparent, with fresh, saline finishes, so this is more open early than the 2020 was.
