South Africa's Cape of Good Hope once had a much darker name — Cape of Storms, due to the torrents that can batter the region. Storm Point takes its name from this moniker, and indeed their vines of Chenin Blanc are a quick drive from the ocean. Chenin Blanc remains the queen of South African varieties, and this particular example is a delight to the senses: delicate aromas of apple blossom and lemon zest are followed by a peachy, vaguely tropical palate and a hit of salinity on the finish.
