Havelock Hills is the one to remember. Te Mata first planted Chardonnay there in 1892, and the estate calls it New Zealand's oldest continuously producing Chardonnay vineyard. That's a lot of history for a bottle you can open on a weeknight. Te Mata was established in 1896 and remains family owned, and with Chardonnay it aims for New World ripeness balanced by freshness and structure.
