Steilriegel (the steep ridge) is a southwest-facing parcel within Zieregg, planted to 40-year-old vines on a 50% slope at 400-480 meters above sea level, on a 16-million-year-old coral-limestone saddle. The wine is fermented spontaneously and aged 24 months in wooden barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
