Tenuta dell’Ornellaia’s Bolgheri Superiore “Ornellaia – La Tensione” 2016 (Artist Label) is the limited Vendemmia d’Artista edition of one of Italy’s most acclaimed wines. This vintage, titled La Tensione (“Tension”), celebrates the perfect equilibrium of power and energy found in the 2016 harvest. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, it was aged 18 months in French oak (70% new) and released with labels and packaging designed by contemporary artist Shirin Neshat, interpreting the vintage’s character through her visual art.

What does this wine taste like?

When should you drink this wine?
Best from 2026–2050. Decant for 2–3 hours when young. Exceptional with aged steak, roast lamb, or truffle-infused dishes.
