"From clay and manganese soils, the 2019 Chénas Les Blémonts, aged 50% in wooden barrel, has an expressive nose featuring punnets of freshly picked strawberries, touches of cherry liqueur and ripe clementines. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity, offering strawberry pastilles and tart red cherries. Fresh and vivacious, leading to a pert, edgy finish. This is drinking well now but should age nicely in bottle." -Vinous
"The 2019 Chénas Les Blemonts is also very attractive, mingling notions of cherries and sweet berry fruit with hints of candied peel, spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with mouthwatering acids, melting tannins and a sapid finish, it's especially elegant this year.
