There's a nice bit of timing, too: the house was founded in 1626, so 1976 was the year it turned 350. People rarely expect Gewurztraminer to age, and that's the reason to open a bottle like this one. It shows what the grape turns into after decades in the hands of a producer this committed to dryness and structure.
