Each parcel is vinified and aged separately, then tasted and blended, so the wine reads as a portrait of the whole zone rather than one hillside. The vines run 20 to 50 years old, farming is Equalitas certified, fermentation is with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is vegan. As for 2023: the damaging weather that hit Alba and Roero spared Barolo and only grazed Barbaresco, and after a hot, settled late summer Vietti picked from the end of September into mid-October with what they judged fully mature tannins.
