They are not, and this varietal bottling makes the case. Villa Dora farms organically on the lower southern flank of the volcano at Terzigno, inside the national park, on ground that is essentially pulverized pumice, ash and lapilli; because phylloxera can't get a grip in that sand, every vine on the estate grows ungrafted on its own roots, trained to the traditional Vesuvian pergola. Vincenzo Ambrosio founded the estate in 1997 and his children run it today.
