The blend is Chardonnay from Montgeaux, a renowned outcropping of flint inflected calcareous chalk and Pinot Noir from his home town of Buxeuil on clay, marl and limestone. It has both a super fresh profile, flinty and reductive alongside dried tree fruit, lemon peel, dusty, chalky minerality, mushrooms, iodine, savory aged cheese rind. Very vinous, with tiny fleeting bubbles, but almost better once they dissipate to taste a wine of such unctuous clarity and mouth coating salinity.
