Christoph Wolber and Alexander Götze met in Burgundy, working at domaines like Leflaive, Domaine de la Vougeraie, Comte Armand, Pierre Morey and de Montille. Back home in Baden, starting with the 2016 vintage, they've gone looking for old vines and ancient Pinot clones. Every vineyard they work is farmed organically and biodynamically. The fruit comes mostly from sandy and loess soils. A fun detail: everything Wasenhaus makes is bottled as Landwein, so the label can't name a village or a vineyard. You have to know what's in the bottle.
