We're In This Together
Dear Friends,
We hope you and yours are still feeling well and staying safe. Here's a brief update on our operations.
Although the Governor has deemed all beverage retailers to be "essential services" we have decided to reduce our hours (see details below) and to limit all sales to delivery and curbside pick-up, effective immediately, in order to reduce the number of staff required onsite.
But you can keep shopping for wine with us -- and from the comfort of your own couch:
-
Curbside pick-up. We will try to have orders available within 30 minutes of ordering, as long as we have stock in our store. If you really want fast service, come by the shop and call us from the sidewalk...we'll bring out your wine right away! Note new hours below.
-
Neighborhood delivery. This is free as always and generally under one hour.
-
City-wide delivery. We are continuing to make city-wide deliveries via Fedex and our own van. Usually this is next business day but let us know if you have any expedited requirements and we will see what we can do.
-
Shipping. We are continuing to ship across New York State and out-of-state, subject to our usual shipping policies and restrictions.
Here's how to order:
-
Call us at (212) 477-1315. You'll reach a knowledgeable sales person who would love to chat with you about wine!
-
Email us at nyc.delivery@flatiron-wines.
com with orders or questions about wine. -
Purchase wine online However, for immediate pick-up or neighborhood delivery, we ask that you call or email us.
New Hours:
We are open for delivery, pickup, and shipping, from 12-8pm (7 days). Please get same-day pick-up and neighborhood delivery orders to us by 6 pm. For next-day Fedex or van delivery, please get your orders to us by 5 pm the day prior.
We love designing cases for you!
Give us your budget, a little info on the types (red, white, rose, orange, sparkling) and styles (natural, classic, easy drinking and happy-making), and how many of each you'd like and we will do the rest!
Benefits and charity opportunities.
We feel incredibly lucky to have been able to keep the doors open this long and to have kept so many our employees on payroll at a time when our friends and colleagues in restaurants, bars and elsewhere are closed down and out of work.
We are working with some of our suppliers to put together charity opportunities for the benefit of those who have lost jobs and businesses. We will email about these programs as we work out details. We will also, of course, continue to email about the wines we think you may want to buy, even at these times.
Safety Precautions.
Beyond halting all store traffic, by limiting our business to pick up and deliver, we continue to hold ourselves to an extremely high standard of cleanliness. We remain steadfast in our commitment to take every step recommended by city, state and national health authorities to reduce risk and make sure that Flatiron Wines is as safe as possible for our staff and customers.
Our whole staff shares this focus. Everyone knows to take the commonsense precautions of washing their hands regularly and not touching their face. We are disinfecting all high-touch surfaces regularly. The delivery and stocking team have always used gloves for moving boxes and bottles, but now we have latex gloves available for everyone handling bottles. And, we encourage everyone to be using contactless payment rather than cash.
We have taken steps to ensure that no employees come to work who are symptomatic or who have been in close contact with anyone who is. We are encouraging all staff who can work remotely to do so. We have put all store travel to at-risk areas on hold. If, as the situation develops.
With deepest solidarity in the face of this epidemic,
Josh
