Pascal Leclerc-Briant represents one of Champagne's most compelling stories of biodynamic innovation, and this 2019 Extra Brut Millésimé captures the essence of what makes this house so distinctive. While many Champagne producers have embraced organic practices in recent years, Leclerc-Briant has been a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture since the 1990s, treating their vineyards as living ecosystems rather than mere grape factories.
This vintage cuvée showcases the house's commitment to expressing pure terroir through minimal intervention. The blend reflects Leclerc-Briant's philosophy of working with traditional Champagne varieties to create wines that speak authentically of their origins. The extra brut dosage—just a whisper of added sugar—allows the natural character of the fruit and the mineral backbone of Champagne's chalky soils to shine through unmasked.
What sets this 2019 apart in Leclerc-Briant's portfolio is its representation of a specific vintage's character, rather than the house's non-vintage blends that form their foundation. It's a wine that embodies the producer's belief that great Champagne should reflect not just place, but time—capturing the unique conditions of a single growing season in the Champagne region's ever-changing climate.

The name says it all: L'Invitation is the bottle the Hure brothers want you to open first, the convivial welcome to their grower estate in Ludes, on the Montagne de Reims. Francois and Pierre Hure farm organically-leaning, roughly thirty-five-year-old vines and blend all three Champagne grapes here, forty percent Pinot Noir, forty percent Pinot Meunier, and twenty percent Chardonnay, built around a solera-style reserve they call the memory of the winery. This bottling rests on a 2020 base and comes in bone-dry as an Extra-Brut, dosed at just 3.7 grams per liter, so the chalk and the fruit do the talking. Three years on the lees give it depth without weight. It's grower Champagne with generosity built in.

The Laherte Frères Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature NV is a highly regarded Champagne crafted entirely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the south-facing slopes of Épernay and Chavot. Known for its pure expression, this wine is produced without dosage, highlighting its bright acidity and minerality. Aromas of lemon oil, white flowers, and crushed chalk dominate the nose, while the palate showcases crisp apple, pear, and almond notes with a taut, chalky texture. Fermented in both foudres and barrels with regular lees stirring, it presents a structured, elegant mousse and a long, saline finish
This Champagne is favored for its bone-dry, mineral-driven profile. The wine balances citrus and orchard fruits with subtle touches of brioche and almond, embodying the precision and finesse of Laherte Frères' winemaking. Its clean, thirst-quenching finish and zero dosage make it an ideal choice for those who enjoy dry, complex sparkling wines.
