Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"The NV Extra Brut Champ Viole is a pure Chardonnay from a single-south-facing parcel in Celles-sur-Ource from a perpetual reserve containing the years 2011-2019, bottled in 2020. Summer blossom, jasmine and lemon make for a fragrant, bright nose. The palate is light, pervaded by the finest mousse. Everything is bright, juicy, vivid, animated, lively, slender, agile and mobile. There is a deep sense of fruit and so much resonance and depth. This is an unusual Blanc de Blancs from the Côte des Bar with an extra and beguiling dimension." -Antonio Galloni

Robert Parker

RP 93
"From a south-facing parcel that was once the cemetery of the monks who planted the first vineyards in Celles-sur-Ource, the NV Extra-Brut Champ Viole is drawn from a perpetual reserve spanning the 2011-2018 vintages that's been matured in tank. Delivering complex aromas of pear, sweet orchard fruit, white flowers, buttery pastry and nutmeg, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless, with a deep core of fruit, racy acids and a pillowy mousse." -William Kelley

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
