"Deeper in color than the 2009, yet more backwards and reserved, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is still incredibly young and structured, with notes of black currants, licorice, crushed rock and iron, full-bodied richness, building tannin and a huge finish. It should start to be approachable in another 2-4 years and have three decades of overall longevity."

"Rock-solid, with a frame of licorice snap and charcoal notes, featuring a core of crushed plum, pastis-soaked blackberry and linzer torte flavors. The long, tarry finish delivers serious grip and well-embedded acidity."
