You probably already know about Montevertine. It has been one Tuscany's brightest stars for decades, on the forefront of every movement that has made the region what it is today. They stepped out of the consorzio because of their belief in Sangiovese, helping to create the Super-Tuscan movement. They have always sought to express their distinct Radda terroir, laying the foundation for today's growing interest in Chianti's varied crus (and especially in Radda!).

There is almost no perception of tannin. Black cherry, plum, lavender, menthol, spice and new leather all meld together in a pliant, striking Pergole Torte endowed with tremendous pedigree and nuance. Put simply, the 2016 is off the charts great.
