Borgo del Tiglio isn’t in the business of simple white wines. Under the late Nicola Manferrari, the estate redefined what Friulano could be—not just fresh and floral, but layered, serious, and slow to unfold. The 2019 is a perfect expression of that vision: sourced from hillside vineyards in Brazzano and Cormòns, fermented and aged in large neutral barrels, and released only when the wine has something to say.

It doesn’t give much away at first. There’s a quiet density to it—textural, mineral, almost meditative. The fruit sits low in the mix. What rises instead is structure, salinity, and the kind of low-lit complexity that rewards slow meals and even slower sipping. A white wine that drinks more like a philosophy than a refresher.
