M. Ant. De La Riva, Cream Viejo Veracruz Trebujena, NV (375ml) (Pre-Sale, Wine Arrives Mid-March)
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
"Like the Amontillado, there's also a Cream without the right to DO Jerez that they call NV Cm Veracruz, from the same source of all their Veracruz wines, the Pago Veracruz in Trebujena. This is a one-off, the only bottling they will do. It's a very old Cream, with around 95 grams of sugar, despite the old age (averaging more than 40 years) and concentration. It also has high volatility and a base of Amontillado that is quite saline, which gives it a touch of freshness. It has some notes of PX but not excessively so (there might be some 20% PX in here...). There are some 450 half bottles of this. 94pts" — Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate
"Continuing with the Trebujena saga from the Veracruz vineyard, we have been able to complete another piece of the family puzzle, acquiring the last remaining wines from one of the branches of the original owning family.
As for the old cream, it is a cream that does not adhere to the usual parameters for these wines within the appellation of origin. It is an atypical cream, with a sugar content of only 70 grams, very low for this category where they typically have twice that amount. resulting in an aged cream with a lot of punch and a marked acidity, and great potential for pairings." — Ramiro Ibáñez
