Over the past couple of decades Domaine Leflaive has re-established itself as probably the most important address for winemaking in the world famous village of Puligny-Montrachet. They accomplished this through a singular attention to growing and making the very best Chardonnay possible.

Indeed, Domaine Leflaive grows only Chardonnay and nothing else. The entire estate has been converted to biodynamic farming. The winemaking is extremely precise, gentle, and driven by a passion to showcase how this extremely popular grape can perfectly capture the subtle nuances of terroir.

Professional Reviews

Burghound

BH 98
"A trace of reduction isn't sufficient to materially reduce the appeal of the honeysuckle, citrus confit and softly spiced aromas that are also trimmed in just enough wood to merit pointing out. The medium-bodied flavors aren't necessarily finer than those of the Pucelles though they do possess more power and weight while retaining a beguilingly silky texture as well as excellent complexity on the strikingly long, balanced and Zen-like finale. This is a very serious and moderately austere BBM that is very clearly built to repay long-term keeping. In a word, superb."

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
