From Ciacci’s prized Fonte vineyard in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, near the Pianrosso cru, the original source of the Rosso di Montalcino
1.4 hectares planted in 2003 at 190-220 meters above sea level with marly soils
Fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and cement vats
Aging in 7.5 to 20hl Slavonian oak for 12 months, plus additional 8 months in bottle
500 cases produced annually on average
First produced again in the 2014 vintage, and not produced in 2021
