Only made in exceptional vintages, L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne is Denis Dubourdieu's experiment in extreme concentration—sweet wine taken to its limits. The scorching 2003 vintage created grapes of impossible ripeness, and September rains coaxed rare botrytis. The result tastes like honeyed stone fruit, roasted nuts, and glazed tropical fruit compressed into essence, so unctuous it challenges what sweet wine can be. A 375ml pour of pure indulgence from one of Sauternes' rarest cuvées.

Professional Reviews

Robert Parker

RP 99
"Space limitations preclude including tasting notes. 2003 is a rich, sweet vintage of powerful, full-bodied wines that possess huge levels of glycerin, alcohol, and residual sugar." -Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Wine Spectator

WS 93
"Doesn't give much on the nose, with subtle lemon, honey, tangerine and apricot. Full-bodied and very sweet, with a long finish. Thick and compacted, with loads of mango and sweet candied fruit. Best after 2010."
