The 2022 Domaine Faiveley Mercurey “La Framboisière” Monopole is a delightful and expressive Pinot Noir from one of the Côte Chalonnaise’s most cherished sites. As a monopole vineyard owned exclusively by Domaine Faiveley, “La Framboisière” benefits from the meticulous attention of this historic Burgundian producer. Known for its unique terroir of clay and limestone soils, this vineyard consistently yields wines with vibrant fruit character and refined structure.

In the glass, the wine shows a vivid ruby hue. The nose is inviting and aromatic, with notes of ripe red raspberries, wild strawberries, and cherries, layered with floral accents and subtle hints of spice and earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and smooth, with supple tannins and bright acidity. Juicy red fruit flavors dominate, with hints of forest floor and a touch of minerality adding depth and complexity. The finish is long and refreshing, leaving an impression of both purity and elegance.

The 2022 vintage, shaped by warm and favorable growing conditions, imparts a generous fruit profile to the wine while preserving the freshness and balance that define the best of Mercurey. This Pinot Noir is an excellent pairing for dishes such as roasted poultry, pork tenderloin, or a mushroom tart. While approachable now for its vibrant fruit and silky texture, it has the structure to age gracefully over the next 5–7 years. Domaine Faiveley’s “La Framboisière” is a wonderful example of the quality and charm that can be found in the Côte Chalonnaise, offering both accessibility and sophistication.

Faiveley is an Iconic Domaine in the best sense of the term. They have both history and pedigree (almost 200 years and 7 generations old), but also innovation as current managers Erwan and Eve Faiveley look to the future.

Professional Reviews

Robert Parker

RP 90
"On my recent visit, I also took the opportunity to taste Faiveley's emblematic 2022 Mercurey La Framboisière, a rich and supple wine evocative of raspberries, plums and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and enveloping, with, as I wrote of its 2019 predecessor, all the charm but less of the frivolity that this cuvée has historically displayed."
