Off-dry Riesling from a new-generation German producer who learned the craft from excellence itself—Florian Fauth of Seehof studies under the methodical brilliance of brother-in-law Klaus Peter Keller, yet has forged his own philosophy: clarity and finesse over concentrated power. The 2024 Feinherb arrives from Westhofen's limestone-rich VDP Grosse Lagen (grand cru equivalent) sites, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel to preserve what matters most—crystalline precision. "Feinherb" means lightly off-dry, roughly 10-20 grams per liter of residual sugar, which on the Seehof palate translates to a suggestion of sweetness rather than declaration. You'll encounter nectarine and key lime aromatics dancing above a laser-focused mineral core. This is the wine that bridges all seasons and cuisines: fresh enough for spring aperitifs, food-flexible enough for Thai curry or roasted pork, elegant enough to make you pause. In the hands of a talented young winemaker, off-dry Riesling becomes a secret weapon.

German Wines

Is there a better grape than Riesling? Is there a better value? Its fruit purity, its perfume, and its mineral nuance are all unparalleled. And for centuries, the top German Rieslings were priced accordingly: at least as expensive as the top red wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. But nowadays you could spend a lifetime exploring Germany’s great Riesling-producing regions while staying well within your budget. You might take an occasional break to try Germany’s other white grapes or perhaps a glass of Spätburgunder (the local name for Pinot Noir). It’s time to get started!
