A rare Saignee method rose, meaning the Pinot Noir grapes are macerated (here for 48 hours) instead of blending red wine with the white must. This is a difficult style to produce, hence its rarity, but leads to wines like this, vinous, spicy and full of character. This wine sees 8 months in oak and steel vats before it spends 3 years in the bottle sur latte. I don't think I've ever seen a RdS at this price, and especially not this good.
