The 2018 Blanc de Blancs Brut comes from three single plots in premier-cru Cumières facing south toward the Marne, directly across from Mardeuil on the Rive Gauche. It's all clay and limestone here, a wonderful terroir for Chardonnay, and Gamet's signature market-fresh fruit and savory, earthy character are a wonderful complement to this wine's chalky spine. It's vinified and aged entirely in barrel and sees 48 months en tirage, so there's breadth and a soft sourdough note well cut by the zero-dosage electric acidity.
