Giulia Negri, Barolo La Tartufaia, 2021
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Giulia Negri, often dubbed the “Barolo Girl,” is part of a new wave of Langhe producers blending deep respect for tradition with an eye for precision and elegance. La Tartufaia comes from organically farmed vines planted in clay and marl at over 450 meters in La Morra—one of Barolo’s cooler, higher-elevation zones.
The 2021 vintage brings balance and tension, and this wine showcases it beautifully: wild strawberry, rose petal, violet, and hints of tea leaf and forest floor glide across a sleek, focused palate. Tannins are present but polished, and the acidity gives the wine a lifted, graceful finish that makes it approachable young but built to evolve.
Aged in large Slavonian oak, La Tartufaia leans toward the classical side stylistically but with a fresh, floral energy that sets it apart. Ideal for lovers of Nebbiolo with finesse—this is a Barolo that wears its power lightly and speaks fluently in the language of elegance.
