With Rubice, Marco Tinessa brings his natural-wine ethos to Falanghina, one of Southern Italy’s oldest white varieties. Sourced from high-altitude, organically farmed vineyards in Campania’s Irpinia region, the grapes are treated with minimal intervention: native fermentation, possible short skin contact (depending on vintage), no fining or filtering, and little to no sulfur.
The 2023 vintage is sharp and expressive, with notes of citrus oil, chamomile, yellow plum, and mountain herbs. The texture is subtly grippy, the acidity high and clean, and the finish carries a touch of volcanic saltiness. This isn’t Falanghina for poolside sipping—it’s Falanghina for the table, or for thoughtful drinking with bold, earthy food.
If you love natural wines with energy and texture—or want to experience Campanian grapes through a more expressive, handcrafted lens—Rubice is a fantastic and refreshing surprise.
