Domaine Charvin, Cotes Du Rhone Damon, 2022
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Laurent Charvin is best known for his celebrated Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but his Côtes du Rhône “Damon” bottling is a perennial insider favorite—crafted from old vines just outside the appellation’s official boundary, farmed organically and vinified with the same hands-off, traditional approach as his top wines.
The 2022 vintage is bright and pure: juicy red cherry, crushed raspberry, and black pepper, layered with garrigue, lavender, and a stony mineral undertone. It’s fermented with whole clusters and aged in concrete, which keeps the texture lively and the fruit fresh—no oak, no heaviness, just Rhône character at full volume.
This is the kind of Côtes du Rhône that punches way above its price: energetic enough for a chill, structured enough for food. Perfect with grilled lamb, ratatouille, or lentil stew, Damon 2022 is soulful Southern Rhône in a finely tuned frame.
