Fort Hamilton Distillery's Double Barrel bourbon represents New York's commitment to craft spirits—a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys from two distinct sources: one portion distilled from 100% New York-grown grain at Taconic Distillery, and another distilled by MGP Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The New York bourbon uses a mash bill of 25% rye, 70% corn, and 5% malted barley, while the MGP bourbon uses 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley. Both are aged for a minimum of 2 years in 53-gallon char level 3 barrels, then blended for a final expression of remarkable balance. At 46% ABV, this bourbon presents aromas of cacao, cardamom, and turmeric alongside apricot chocolate bars, with a palate showing green peppercorn, caramel corn, and orange zest. The bourbon is non-chill filtered and Orthodox Union Certified Pareve Kosher, reflecting Fort Hamilton's commitment to quality and authenticity.
