From a meticulous Oregon winemaker profoundly influenced by Eyrie Vineyards pioneer David Lett. Kelley Fox holds degrees in psychology, biology, and biochemistry, with winemaking experience at Torii Mor, Hamacher, and ten years at Scott Paul. She founded her eponymous label in 2007. Momtazi Vineyard is Demeter-certified biodynamic in McMinnville Foothills AVA, planted 1998 with clones 114 and 115. The challenging 2013 vintage—heavy September rains—rewarded quality-focused producers. This shows cherry blossom, cherry confit, blood orange, polished rosewood, and dusty chalky minerality. Precise, graceful Oregon elegance.

Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 92
"Limpid red. Pure, mineral-driven red currant, cherry and potpourri scents show very good clarity and gain depth from hints of licorice and sassafras. Stains the palate with energetic raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, which are given spine by a core of juicy acidity. Densely packed with flavor but quite lithe; finishes very long, with subtle tannins lending grip." -Josh Raynolds
