Most rosé Champagne is made by blending white and red wine. Carpe Diem skips that shortcut—this is saignée rosé, made by letting Pinot Noir juice soak on the skins, just like a still red. That gives it deeper color, bolder fruit, and a more vinous, structured feel than your typical pale pink sparkler.

Grongnet is a grower-producer based in Étoges, in the Côteaux Sud d’Épernay—a lesser-known area that’s quietly putting out some of Champagne’s best under-the-radar bottles. Everything’s done in-house: farming, fermenting, bottling. No flashy branding, just solid, hand-crafted Champagne.

The base wine is mostly Pinot Noir, often with a splash of Chardonnay, and it spends time on the lees for added depth. It’s extra brut, so totally dry, but the ripe berry fruit and texture keep it from feeling austere.

This isn’t your soft, delicate brunch rosé—Carpe Diem is for drinkers who want a Champagne with a little grip and guts. It holds up to food, feels serious without being stuffy, and totally overdelivers for the price.
