"The 2004 Barbaresco Asili needs a good twelve hours to open up and find its freshness. Sweet red berries, cinnamon and rose petal are pushed forward. Even with all of the oxygenation, the Asili retains sinewy, pulsating tannins that still need time in bottle to soften. This is a decidedly virile, masculine Asili with bright, salivating acidity and piercing tannins that need time to soften. Like all of the Roagna wines of this era, the 2004 Asili is going to offer its greatest pleasure starting around age twenty." -Antonio Galloni
