Don’t let the humble name fool you—Barolo di Barolo is very much the real deal. It’s Roagna’s most accessible bottling, but it still comes from old vines (planted in the '50s and '60s) in top vineyards like Pira and Terlo. Same wild fermentations, same extra-long maceration, same extended aging in neutral oak. No new wood, no rush, no flash—just deeply traditional Barolo, done right.

The 2019 vintage is a great match for this bottling: fresh, structured, and transparent. Expect red cherry, dried rose, mint, and a little iron-tinged earth, all wrapped in firm but fine-grained tannins. It’s got enough depth to reward patience, but it’s also the kind of bottle you can decant and enjoy now if you're feeling fancy.

And in magnum, it’s even more of a smart play—slower evolution, bigger impact at the table, and excellent aging potential. If you’re Roagna-curious (or already obsessed), this is the one to stock up on.

Luca Roagna and his family have been making some of the greatest wines in Piemonte for generations, and the quality just keeps rising. Anyone will be able to respect and admire the work of Luca Roagna: no step taken in the vineyard or the winery is without complete follow-through of thought.

Standing in the middle of one of their vineyards, you almost forget it's a place to grow grapes. Grass, insects and wildlife flourish throughout the vines, which are never subjected to chemical sprays, mowing or tilling. The bio-sphere is diverse and vigorous, the soils healthy: the result is impeccably grown grapes ready to become impeccably made wine.
