Founded by Ricardo Carreiro in the 1970s after returning from South America, with first wines bottled in 1980. Ricardo Jr. took over in 2000 and modernized the winery. Gomariz, called the "Golden Mile" of Ribeiro, is described as the oldest wine-producing land on the Iberian Peninsula with records dating to the 10th century. The estate farms 32 hectares using only autochthonous varieties. Since 2004, they follow biodynamic principles. Gomariz X is 100% Godello from the single parcel "O Taboleiro"—1 hectare of 15-year-old south-facing vines on sandy granitic soils, fermented and aged in stainless steel.

"The nose of the 2023 X Godello is an explosion of yellow fruit with some lanolin-like notes (reminiscent of wines with botrytis). It has contained ripeness, 12.4% alcohol, a pH of 3.25, 6.1 grams of acidity and bone-dry finish. 2023 was a lighter year than 2022. This is also unoaked. 2,600 bottles produced.
