Cache Cache (French for “hide and seek”) is a fitting name for this genre-bending bottle from Barbichette, a tiny California project known for minimal intervention and maximum charm. The 2022 vintage is a co-ferment of red and white grapes—often including Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and skin-contact whites—made with native yeast, low sulfur, and a light, juicy touch.

The wine pours a hazy ruby-pink and smells like strawberry skins, hibiscus, watermelon rind, and crushed herbs. On the palate, it’s vibrant and a little wild—light in body, with zippy acidity, gentle grip, and a slightly savory, herbal edge that keeps it from feeling too fruity.
