Domaine Valentin Zusslin, Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg, 2018
is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Pfingstberg is one of Alsace’s great Grand Crus, and in the hands of Valentin Zusslin, it becomes a Riesling of serious structure, stony tension, and long-aging grace. The 2018 vintage brings just a touch of warmth to this cool, limestone-heavy site, balancing richness and precision perfectly.
This wine is dry, sharp, and beautifully textured—with notes of lime peel, green apple skin, white flowers, and a deep, almost smoky mineral core. It’s one of those whites that feels both high-toned and grounded, with acidity that’s precise rather than piercing, and a long finish that tightens and lingers.
Zusslin farms biodynamically and works with a light hand in the cellar, letting this Grand Cru site speak for itself. And Pfingstberg has plenty to say: elevation, limestone, and a southeast exposure give it both ripeness and cut, making for Riesling that’s just as compelling at the dinner table as it is in the cellar.
Perfect with alpine cheeses, shellfish, roasted vegetables—or just to sip slowly and let it unfold.
