Working with old vines at elevation in the rugged hills surrounding Priorat, Fredi Torres brings a new-school sensibility to Montsant—organic farming, spontaneous fermentations, and a light touch that favors energy over extraction.

La Selección 2021 is built on Garnacha and Carignan, but trades weight for agility. The fruit is vivid—red plum, cherry skin—but framed by spice, rocky tannin, and a mineral core that reflects the slate and clay soils underfoot. It’s fermented with native yeasts, aged in neutral barrels, and bottled with minimal intervention.

This isn’t Montsant trying to be Priorat. It’s Montsant with a point of view: honest, expressive, and tuned for the table.

Vinification
90% destemmed fruit macerated for 9 days with 10% whole cluster. After pressing, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. Total SO2 is 56 mg/l
Aging
Aged for 9 months in stainless steel. Lightly filtered before bottling.
